South Alabama will have six throwers competing in Lincoln. On the men's side, Bobby Gray, Joshua Acker, and Samuel Mika will participate in the shot put and weight throw. For the women, Dawson Wright, Iyana Johnson, and Flora Dupans will compete in the same events on Friday and Saturday for the Jags.

The Jaguars had five athletes claim wins at the USA Invitational. Sophomore Presleigh Montalvo shattered her own school record of 7.51 in the women's 60 meters with a blazing time of 7.44 to place second overall in the event.

True Freshman Brady Keller had a dominant day competing in the first collegiate 800-meter dash. Keller ran the fastest time in program history on a standard 200-meter banked track, posting a 1:50.49 to top Stephen Larubi's 1:50.71, set on an oversized track.

Avery Childress bolted to a first-place finish in the men's 200 meters, clocking a time of 21.47 to defeat his closest competitor by nearly two hundredths of a second.

Charleen Elizondo led the pack for the Jags in distance events. Elizondo picked up a commanding win in the women's 3000 meters, clocking 9:47.83 and beating the field by nearly three seconds.

In the throwers' ring, Dawson Wright had a career-best day, taking first place in the shot put with a mammoth throw of 14.31 meters, while Calli Stokes finished close behind in second with a toss of 13.58 meters.

Samuel Mika scored in both throwing events, placing third in the shot put and second in the weight throw.
