MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama controlled the rivalry rematch from start to finish Saturday afternoon, defeating Troy 65–54 at the Mitchell Center to improve to 20–9 overall and 10–6 in Sun Belt play.

Key Moments

• Chaze Harris set the tone defensively early, recording two steals in the opening minutes that led to transition points and helped South Alabama build early momentum.

• Hantz Louis Jeune buried three first-half triples, including one at the 1:39 mark that pushed the lead to 11 — the Jaguars' largest advantage of the half.

• After Troy trimmed the deficit to two midway through the second half, Jayden Cooper responded with a three-pointer and a fast-break layup on back-to-back possessions to steady the lead.

• Adam Olsen delivered the biggest shot of the afternoon with 6:00 remaining, drilling a go-ahead three-pointer to flip a one-point deficit back (52-51) in South Alabama's favor.

• Olsen struck again from deep at the 4:02 mark, extending the margin to six and igniting the Mitchell Center crowd.

• Stephen Williams provided a key second-chance bucket with 10:21 remaining, converting in the paint after an offensive rebound to keep the Jaguars in front during a tight stretch.

• Down the stretch, South Alabama locked in defensively, holding Troy scoreless from the field over the final 1:49 while closing the game on a 7–0 run.

• Jayden Cooper iced the rivalry win at the free-throw line in the final 41 seconds, stretching the lead back to double digits.

• South Alabama shot 43.6 percent (24-of-55) from the field while holding Troy to just 24.5 percent (13-of-53) shooting. 

• The Jaguars limited Troy to 3-of-11 (27.3%) inside the arc and just 6 points in the paint.

• South Alabama outscored Troy 30–6 in the paint and finished with 35 total rebounds.

• Four Jaguars reached double figures in the win, led by Jayden Cooper and Chaze Harris with 17 points apiece, while Adam Olsen added 16 points and seven rebounds, and Hantz Louis Jeune chipped in 11 points, knocking down three of his six attempts from beyond the arc.

• South Alabama led for 36:31 of the 40 minutes and secured back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 2009. 

• South Alabama held Troy to 10-of-42 (23.8%) from three-point range.

• South Alabama won the rebounding battle 35–39 overall (including 26 defensive boards).

• The Jaguars shot 80% (8-of-10) from the free-throw line in the second half to close it out.
