BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – South Alabama Track & Field wrapped up competition at the USA Invitational with two new school records set on the Track and five total event wins, highlighting an impressive day for the Jags at the Birmingham Crossplex.

Sophomore Presleigh Montalvo shattered her own school record of 7.51 in the women's 60 meters with a blazing time of 7.44 to place second overall in the event.

True Freshman Brady Keller had a dominant day competing in the first collegiate 800-meter dash. Keller ran the fastest time in program history on a standard 200-meter banked track, posting a 1:50.49 to top Stephen Larubi's 1:50.71, set on an oversized track.

Avery Childress bolted to a first-place finish in the men's 200 meters, clocking a time of 21.47 to defeat his closest competitor by nearly two hundredths of a second.

Charleen Elizondo led the pack for the Jags in distance events. Elizondo picked up a commanding win in the women's 3000 meters, clocking 9:47.83 and beating the field by nearly three seconds.

Brody Hamilton cruised his way to a second-place finish in the men's 60 meters with a time of 8.63, securing the sixth fastest time in the South Alabama record books.

Over in the pole vault, Terek Logan had an impressive day, leaping to a clearance of 5.22 meters to claim second place overall and the fifth-highest clearance in program history.

In the throwers' ring, Dawson Wright had a career-best day, taking first place in the shot put with a mammoth throw of 14.31 meters, while Calli Stokes finished close behind in second with a toss of 13.58 meters.

Kayden Engel placed second in the women's high jump, clearing 1.70 meters, while Aubrey Evans finished fourth.

Samuel Mika scored in both throwing events, placing third in the shot put and second in the weight throw.

Carlder Datilus added a runner-up finish in the men's triple jump, while Devin Dahunsi scored with a sixth-place showing.

The hurdles group delivered a strong scoring day as Jadon Thomason placed second in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.01. Nieko Garnes finished third, while Samuel Warriner added points with a fourth-place showing.
