MOBILE, Ala.  —South Alabama Athletics ranked 15th in total community service hours among NCAA Division I athletic departments for the 2024–25 academic year, according to rankings released Monday by Helper Helper.

The rankings also highlighted the top men's and women's programs nationally. South Alabama men's basketball ranked No. 1 in community service hours among all Division I programs, while women's basketball and men's track and field each finished second in their respective sports.

Several other South Alabama teams placed in the top 10 nationally in their sports for volunteer hours, including football (No. 3), women's track and field (No. 4), softball (No. 5) and men's golf (No. 10).

Helper Helper is a volunteer management platform designed to help athletic departments and other organizations coordinate and track community service efforts. The software allows users to post service opportunities, monitor hours and generate reports—making it easier for student-athletes to stay involved in their communities.
