QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi
On the flow of the game:Â Aside from the first inning, we beat him three to one, and I told the guys afterwards. I gave Shineflew a lot of credit. He's been really good for us. You know, a hit by pitch, a couple walks in there, one swing. They're not a super offensive club. They've got some dangerous guys, but their numbers don't indicate that they hit a lot of home runs, but the wind's blowing out, and we just, you know, made a mistake. Made a couple mistakes, but we put some guys on base ahead of them. I give Shineflew credit. He hung in there, and where they had to go to three or four, we were in position to win. Six runs, especially giving up five in the first, our guys battled and stayed in it. And, you know, they're pitching is first or second in the league for a good reason, and they're outstanding. We knew exactly who they have down there. The good thing is, we got into three of their main relievers, which was good, so we got to look at it and extended them. We didn't give, we didn't give any at bats away. We knew their starter, Galy has good sink. You know, we didn't do a good enough job, but he did a great job tonight. We didn't do a good enough job getting the ball up, but he didn't give us many opportunities. He was working at the bottom of the strike zone, and the umpire was giving it to him. So I told our guys I was proud of their effort, and we competed all night long. It just didn't go our way tonight, but we battled and hung in there and got into their bullpen a little bit, and we were in position. We were within striking distance. We had men on and, you know, not a whole lot, like I said, there weren't a whole lot of hits to be found tonight, and we out hit them, but we gave up some free passes, and they hit two long balls and that got us.
