MOBILE, Ala. -Â South Alabama's (12-16) ninth inning rally falls short against Southeastern Louisiana (23-6) in the 8-6 Tuesday night loss.
Lucas Ismaili scored
John Smith III in the first inning to open up the scoring for a 1-0 lead, followed by an infield error that
Kyle Morrison found home on. Southeastern took the top of the second and scored five runs, headlined by a three-run home run.Â
The Jags loaded the bases in the bottom of the second and got one run back with a
Lucas Ismaili RBI single.
Both teams remained quiet for the next five innings, with neither team getting more than one runner on, other than SLU drawing three walks in the top of the sixth.Â
South Alabama finally scored one more run to cut the lead in half when
Rett Johnson sent Ismaili from second home on a hit up the middle.Â
