GULF SHORES, Ala. | Flavia Tamburlini finished tied for 12th at the Bama Beach Bash held at the Gulf Shores Golf Club to lead a trio of South Alabama women's golfers. The 12th-place finish was the first Top 15 of Tamburlini's career as she posted a three-round 11-over-par 227 (74-78-75).  

True freshman Katelyn Foster made the biggest jump over the final 18 holes for the Jaguars as she moved up 18 spots to finish tied for 24th at the event, carding 54-hole total of 234, while Grace Sutter shot 250 to place 58th. Both Tamburlini and Foster each had a total of nine birdies for the tournament.

"We have a very competitive team this year making it challenging for everyone on the roster to get an opportunity to compete. Across the board, our entire team has been working extremely hard this year.  

"I'm happy Katelyn, Flavia and Grace were able to compete this week. I'm proud of our freshman for putting some good rounds together; they've made big strides in their development this year. Flavia just recorded her first collegiate Top 15 and had some impressive stretches in the first and final round. I hope they take some confidence from this week and encouragement to keep working hard."

•    The tournament marked the first of the season for both Suter and Foster

•    Tamburlini carded her best 54-hole score of the year with the 227 
•    Foster moved up 18 positions on Tuesday with a two-over-par 74 where she birdied three holes and pared nine others 
•    Tamburlini birdied the first two holes of the third round, and had three of her five birdies on the back-nine 
•    Suter recorded her best round of the tournament in the final round of play
