CONWAY, SC. – Myles Corey exploded for 27 points, and the South Alabama men's basketball team made 15 three-pointers to roll past Coastal Carolina 84-59 Wednesday night in Conway. The Jags improved to 16-8 overall and 8-4 in Sun Belt play, while Coastal dropped to 8-16 on the season and 1-11 in conference action.
The Jags played lights out the entire night, shooting 55.9 percent (33-59) from the floor, a season-high 53.6 percent from three-point range (15-28), to lead by as much as 38 points in the second half. After the Chanticleers rifled off an 18-0 run to cut the lead to 20 with 6:10 remaining, Corey knocked down three straight threes and a fastbreak layup to put the game further out of reach.
Corey was outstanding throughout the contest, shooting 10-of-13 from the field and 7-for-8 from behind the arc with six rebounds. Barry Dunning Jr. came out of the gates firing, finishing with 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

USA kept its foot on the gas and knocked down four three-pointers, as Corey, Brown, Cooper, and Dunning all hit from downtown to extend its advantage to a commanding 26-11 with 8:29 left.
South Alabama continued to push as Ormiston scored seven points down the final stretch of the half to give the Jags a 43-20 lead heading into halftime.
Corey began to heat up at the start of the second period, nailing three-pointers and a mid-range jumper to make the score even more lopsided, 50-23, with 18:17 remaining.
The Jags continued to open up the floodgates and earned their largest lead at the 10:11 mark, 71-35, after Fasoyiro, Broom, and Cooper all knocked down three-pointers.
Following a Coastal Carolina 18-0 run that trimmed the Jags lead to 20 points, Corey had three straight three-pointers and a fastbreak layup to extend the lead back to 82-53 with 3:02 left on the clock that allowed the Jags to cruise to the finish line.
