How It HappenedÂ
•   South Alabama had a scoring opportunity in the opening frame as
Presley Lively led off the game with an infield single. The freshman outfielder then stole second – her ninth of the season – and advanced to third on a wild pitch, but Murray State starter Bre Haislip (1-4) retired the next three Jaguar batters with a pair of strikeouts and a fly out to left.Â
•   The Jags put together back-to-back, extra-base hits its next time up and scratched across a run.
Megan Davidson lined a one-out double to left for South in the top of the second, and
Ansleigh Smith followed with a double of her own, this one to center, scoring Davidson (USA, 1-0).
•   White and Stagner both singled with one out in the Jaguar third, and the duo then came around to score as
Olivia Branstetter lined a double to the left field corner (USA, 3-0).Â
•   Murray State put its first two base runners aboard in its half of the fourth. Parker Holcomb broke up the no-hit bid as she doubled to center with one out when the ball was lost in the sun, and Kenley Minor was then hit by a pitch.
Tori Miller (3-1) battled right back and quickly ended the scoring threat with a pair of pop ups on the infield.
•   South Alabama blew things open in the top of the fifth, sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring seven runs on seven hits. Stagner then led off the top of the fifth with her seventh home run of the season, driving a 2-1 pitch over the wall in right center (4-0). Lee then doubled to right – her fifth of the spring – and two batters later Bockhaus brought her in with a triple and then came around to score herself on a Racer throwing error (USA 6-0). Andujo kept the inning going with a two-out single to third, and the freshman stole second before racing all the way around on Gavin's double (USA, 7-0).
Gracie Tentinger kept the scoring going with a pinch-hit, RBI single back up the middle (USA, 8-0), plating Gavin. After a walk by White,
Morgan Hall then plated two more with a two-run double to center to increase the lead to 10-0.

•   Trailing by nine, Murray State rallied back in the bottom of the seventh scoring nine runs on seven hits and a costly Jaguar error. The Racers loaded the bases with one out after a pair of walks and a hit, and Ava Orzment drove in the first two runs of the inning with a single back up the middle (USA, 14-7). Another run scored on a fielder's choice to cut the deficit to six. After a fly out, the game was then extended by an error, which scored a run and led to six unearned runs. Murray State then had a pair of RBI singles from Ray and pinch hitter Rylee Webb, and with two on, Huels pulled the Racers within one (14-13) with a two-run triple to right. Holcombe then tied the game up (14-14) with a RBI single of her own.
