The Jags put the clamps on the conference's top offensive team, holding Arkansas State to a season-low in points (56) and three-pointers (6-for-19) (19%), while forcing 19 Red Wolves turnovers to secure the 60-56 win and the season sweep over Ark State. Barry Dunning Jr. led the Jags in scoring, finishing with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field with a team-high eight rebounds and two assists. Judah Brown came up clutch in several clutch moments, finishing with 10 points on 3-of-6 shooting from the floor and a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line with four rebounds.

- Despite being outrebounded, 91-67 in the last two games the Jags have come out with two crucial victories in conference play. On Wednesday, the Jags trailed in the rebounding battle 46-32 and missed 11 of its 22 attempted free throws, but got substantial production from its' entire squad as they totaled 31 bench points and held Arkansas State's bench scoreless.
- Elijah Ormiston has been on fire in the last six games, averaging 15.0 points on 58.2 percent (30-48) shooting from the floor and 95 percent from the charity stripe (19-20) with 3.0 rebounds per game. Ormiston took it to Marshall, finishing with a D1 career-high 26 points on 11-15 shooting from the floor with five rebounds.
- The Jags have committed to their zone defense this season and have eliminated any chance of driving in the lane for open shots. They have forced 59.8 percent of their opponents' shots to come from three-point range this year. The all-time NCAA record is 52 percent (per Kenpom).
- USA leads the Sun Belt in assists per game, contributing 14.93 per contest. Four players average two or more assists per game -- Myles Corey (4.2), JJ Wheat (2.3), Barry Dunning Jr. (2.2), and Randy Brady (2.2). Corey has tallied 19 assists in the last five games
- The Jags are 16-1 when scoring 70 points or more this season and 3-8 when scoring less than 70 points. USA is also 17-7 when limiting their' opponent to under 40 percent shooting from the field.

- Texas State completed a season sweep of ULM with an 80-63 win on Wednesday night in Strahan Arena. The Bobcats led throughout and led by as much as 27 in the second half. It was the team's seventh Sun Belt Conference victory this season, tying last year's squad conference victory total.
- Christian Turner recorded his first career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. The senior forward also dished out five assists and had two steals.
- Kaden Gumbs enters Saturday with 106 assists on the season. He became the first Bobcat to reach the assist century mark since Marlin Davis had 126 in the 2019-20 campaign. Gumbs is 38 assists shy of tying for 10th on the team's season list, which would match current assistant director of operation Ojai Black's 2016-17 total.???????
