HATTIESBURG, Miss. – South Alabama women's basketball fell to Southern Miss in a road test on Thursday, 84-65. The defeat moves the Jaguars to 7-4 for the season and 0-1 in Sun Belt action.

KEY MOMENTS:

• The Jaguars got off to a hot start in the first quarter, going 57.1% and 50.0% from the field and downtown, respectively. However, a late comeback by the Lady Eagles would tie the score at the end of the quarter.
• Despite a 10-0 comeback effort late in the third quarter to bring the Jaguars within five, the Lady Eagles' defense would withstand, holding the Jaguars to a 14-point quarter.

KEY STATS:

• Cordasia Harris recorded her fourth consecutive double-double tonight, netting 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Harris also had an impressive night from the field, shooting 7-for-15.
• Daniela Gonzalez tied her career high in blocks tonight, recording three.

The Jaguars will face another road test against the Arkansas State Red Wolves, the reigning Sun Belt Tournament Champions. The contest will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday at First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro, Ark.
