MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama women's basketball rolled past North Alabama on Sunday, defeating the Lions 70-58 at The Mitch. The victory marks the end of non-conference play, moving the Jaguars to 7-3 for the season.
KEY MOMENTS:
- At just over five minutes left in the first quarter, Cordasia Harris sent a second-chance layup into the net to send her career-point total to 1,000.
- The Jaguars got off to a slow start in the second quarter, but picked up the pace by going 3-3 from beyond the arc in the latter five minutes.
- The fourth quarter was explosive on both sides of the court, both teams totaling a combined 44 points. Chrysta Narcisse led the way for the Jags, going 2-for-4 from the field.
KEY STATS:
- Cordasia Harris recorded her third-consecutive double-double today, netting her first 20-piece of the season and grabbing 10 rebounds. She is the first Jaguar of the season to do so.
- The Jaguars only recorded 11 turnovers today, setting a new season-low.
- Today's 12-point win marks the sixth time a Jaguar victory has been decided by more than 10 points.
- South Alabama blocked seven shots today, tying the program's season-high. Prior to this season, the Jaguars had not blocked more than six shots since 2021 (12 vs. Georgia State, 2/27).
- As a team, the Jaguars shot 54.5% from beyond the arc in the first half.
