NEW ORLEANS –  After a dominating performance in the opening weekend of the indoor competition last week, Sebastian Loschner was named Sun Belt Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

The current shot put program record holder and reigning Indoor Sun Belt champion had a phenomenal start to the 2025 campaign at the Samford Invitational. Loschner posted a fourth-place finish in the shot put after registering a massive throw of 17.98 peters (59'0"). He followed up that performance with another monstrous heave of 17.05 meters (55'11.25") in the weight throw to claim 10th place. 

The Jags will set their sights on the Minnesota Indoor Invite on Jan. 24-25.
