Box Score ATLANTA, Ga.- The South Alabama soccer team notched a 3-1 victory over Georgia State Sunday afternoon.
The first half was a slow start for both sides, with defense being the theme of the half. The momentum would flip in favor of the Jags as
Monique Gray connected with
Irene Campo in the 38th minute to give South the 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Jags got hot in the second half as
Monique Gray got her second assist of the day as she serviced a ball to
Laurie-Ann Moise to give South Alabama the 2-0 lead. The Panthers would not go down easily, scoring in the 60th minute to make it a 2-1 affair. Mere seconds later,
Mae Hunt recorded her first career goal for the Jaguars after she received a beautiful pass from
Juliana Lopes to give South the 3-1 advantage. The Jag defense would slow down the Panthers as time winded down as South took down the Panthers in a 3-1 final.
