Box Score JONESBORO, Ark.- The Jags started off conference play on the right foot with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Arkansas State to give them their fourth straight win.
The first half proved to be a stalemate between both sides with defense being the theme of the half. As the half winded down, the Jaguar offense turned it up a notch and found several opportunities on the offensive side.
Allison Luckhardt spearheaded South's defense as she helped keep the Red Wolves at bay. The Jags defensive front continued to hold strong as both teams entered the half scoreless.
Much like the first half, neither team managed to convert offensively. The Red Wolves threatened several times as the half moved along, with South continuing to hold strong.
Monique Gray proved to be the difference maker as the St. Petersburg, Florida netted a goal in the 66th minute to give South the 1-0 lead. The Jaguar defense held off the Red Wolves for the remaining minutes and would hold on for the 1-0 victory to begin Sun Belt play as well as earn their fourth straight win.
