Box Score MURFREESBORO, Tenn.- The South Alabama soccer team would close out non-conference play with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Middle Tennessee State. 

South would get off on the right foot as an Irene Campo corner kick bounced off a defender to give South the early 1-0 advantage. The Jags defense was strong throughout the first half, controlling the pace and not allowing the hosts to get many offensive opportunities. In the 17th minute, Monique Gray would net a shifty goal to give the Jags the 2-0 lead and add a boost of momentum to the Jags as they entered the half with the lead. 

The hosts would respond in the 52nd minute with a goal to bring the Blue Raiders to within one. The hosts would then convert on a header to even the score at the 60th minute. The Blue Raiders offensive attack remained strong as they scored in the 81st minute to jump ahead 3-2. Irene Campo would step up for the Jags in the 84th minute with a clutch goal to even the score at three and give South some much-needed life. In the 89th minute, Juliana Lopes sealed the deal for South as the Junior transfer from Lee University netted her first career goal for the Jags to help them secure the thrilling 4-3 victory to close out non-conference play.

South will officially kick off conference play as they face off against Arkansas State on September 20.
