Jaguars Picked Sixth in Preseason Poll

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Sun Belt Conference announces the 2024 women's cross country preseason poll, with South Alabama voted sixth among 13.

South Alabama received 96 points, with Arkansas State receiving 10 of the 13 first place votes and 162 total points. James Madison is picked second with two first place votes, and Coastal Carolina getting the last first place vote while tabbed to finish fifth. Marshall and App State are third and fourth

South Alabama finished sixth at the 2023 Sun Belt Championships with 136 points and South's top returner from last year, Charleen Elizondo, finishing in 15th place.

The season kicks off on August 30 at the Mobile City Classic at Langan Park where both the men's and women's teams will compete in the 5k starting at 6:45p.m.
