MOBILE, Ala. – The Football Writers Association of America released its 2024 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List Tuesday with South Alabama safety
Jaden Voisin among the 75 recognized.
The Bronko Nagurski Trophy is a member of the National College Football Awards Association. In 1995, the FWAA named the award in honor of the legendary two-way player from the University of Minnesota. Nagurski dominated college football, then became a star for professional football's Chicago Bears in the 1930s. Bronislaw "Bronko" Nagurski is a charter member of both the College Football and Pro Football Halls of Fame.
To date, Voisin has made the preseason All-Sun Belt Team along with Phil Steele's and Athlon's preseason All-Sun Belt Teams. He also landed a spot on the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 List. Voisin dominated for the Jaguars in 2023, tallying four interceptions and seven pass breakups. He also compiled 66 tackles. Voisin made two tackles for loss on the year, and forced one fumble.
The FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club will announce finalists for the 2024 trophy on Nov. 20 and the winner will be unveiled Dec. 9 at the Bronko Nagurski Awards Banquet in Charlotte, N.C.
