MOBILE, Ala. – The Sun Belt Conference released its preseason football teams Monday and three South Alabama Football players earned spots on the various teams.
Safety
Jaden Voisin received first team honors while receiver
Jamaal Pritchett and defensive lineman
Wy'Kevious Thomas landed on the second team.
In addition to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Teams being released, the Jaguars were picked to finish fifth in the West Division by the head coaches in the conference. Texas State was selected as the favorite to win the west while App State was picked to win the East Division.
Voisin was a menace in the defensive backfield for the Jags in 2023, recording a team-high four interceptions to go with seven broken up passes. He finished fourth on the team in tackles with 66, 29 of which were solo takedowns. Voisin made two tackles for loss on the year, and forced one fumble. His efforts led to him being an All-SBC First Team selection.
Thomas anchored South Alabama's defensive line in 2023 with 36 tackles. He recorded 2.5 tackles for loss on the season and one sack, which led to him earning All-SBC Third Team honors. Pritchett finished 2023 strong to be the Jaguars' second-leading receiver with 49 catches for 756 yards and six touchdowns. He finished the season with All-SBC Honorable Mention recognition.
Thomas and Pritchett will represent South Alabama at Sun Belt Conference Media Day on Wednesday, July 24 in New Orleans. The day's proceedings can be followed live on ESPN+. The full preseason All-Sun Belt teams, along with the preseason poll, are below.
