MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama Football head coach
Major Applewhite has announced the hiring of Jonathan Bradley as the program's defensive line coach.
Bradley joins the Jaguars from Jackson State where he spent the past season as defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.
Prior to his time with the Tigers Bradley spent multiple years in the SWAC, including stops at Alcorn State, Arkansas Pine Bluff and North Carolina Central. At Alcorn, Bradley was the co-defensive coordinator while he was defensive coordinator and associate head coach at Pine Bluff. He also coached defensive line at NC Central.
Bradley's new appointment as defensive line coach at South will not be his first stop in the Sun Belt Conference, as he started his coaching career at Arkansas State where he was also a player. Bradley coached the Red Wolves during the 2011 and 2012 seasons in which the team captured back-to-back Sun Belt titles. As a player, Bradley was a three-time, all-conference performer for the Red Wolves. Following a successful collegiate career, he went on to play four seasons in the National Football League for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions.
Bradley originally hails from West Helena, Ark. He graduated from Arkansas State with a bachelor's degree in sport management.
