Despite shooting below 35 percent from the field on the game, South Alabama outscored Nicholls 15-5 in the final five minutes of the second half to secure a 70-64 road win. Myles Corey and Dylan Fasoyiro powered the Jags' offense. Corey scored 18 points, shooting a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line, and dished out eight assists. Fasoyiro finished with 17 points, knocking down six-of-eight free throws, along with three triples, while Judah Brown scored 15 points and hit five three-pointers for the second game in a row.

- Miles Corey and Judah Brown have had dominant starts to the 2024-25 campaign. Corey, an Ontario, Calif. native has averaged 19.0 points and 9.5 assists in the first two contests for the Jags, including a 20-point 11 assist stat line in the season opener against Central Michigan.
- Corey leads the Sun Belt in minutes (37.5) and assists (9.5), and ranks second in scoring (19.0).
- Graduate forward Judah Brown has been lights out from behind the arc since returning for his fifth year of college basketball and third year with the Jags. Brown, a Bermuda Dunes, Calif. native, has scored 15 points in both outings this season, knocking down a Sun Belt Conference-leading five three-pointers per contest.
- Corey (19.0), Brown (15.0), Dylan Fasoyiro (12.0), and Barry Dunning Jr. (11.0) all average double figures in scoring for the Jaguars.
- South Alabama ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio, holding a 1.35 margin. The Jags dished out 12 assists and forfeited only five turnovers against Nicholls State.
- John Broom has controlled the glass for the Jags this season. Broom is averaging seven rebounds and seven points per game.

- South Alabama trails in the all-time series 1-5 against Ole Miss. South's only victory came on Dec.30, 1975, at home eight years after the program's inaugural season in 1968. The Jags fell to the Rebels in the most recent matchup 92-58 on Dec. 22, 2016 in Oxford.
- South has a 6-44 record against ranked opponents. The last time the Jags defeated a ranked opponent came on Nov.9, 2012, when South took down No. 24 Florida State in a 76-70.
