Behnsen Records Top 10 Finish as Jags Close Out Fall with Third-Place Finish

CORAL GABLES, Fla. | Freshman women's golfer Anna Behnsen fired a final round 69 Tuesday afternoon to move up 13 spots into the Top 10 at the Hurricane Invitational hosted by Miami at the Biltmore Golf Course. Behnsen carded a three-round even-par, 216 (73-74-69) to place in a four-way tie for sixth at the event.

Malia Uyeshiro (73-73-71—217) and Katharina Schroll 73-73-71—217) finished one-over par and tied with four other golfers for 10th place and help lead South Alabama (293-292-287—872, +8) to a third-place finish, just one shot back of Florida Gulf Coast (290-292-289—871, +7). The final round 287 by the Jaguars was second only to tournament medalists Miami (290-284-278—852, -10).

Head Coach Marcelo Huarte
- On the team's performance this week against a strong field:
"I'm proud of the team for how they fought this week. They didn't have their best stuff, but played smart, scored well and finished in the top three for the third time this semester."

- On what the team can take away from the strong fall as they prepare for the spring portion of their schedule:
"There a lot of positives from this semester. We've grown and improved throughout the semester. We were in the final group going into the final round at all four events, which shows that we are consistently putting ourselves in position to win or finish amongst the top of the field.

"The margins of victory are small at this level, so we just have to continue working and improving one day at a time."
