Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

South Alabama falls to Marshall on the road

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – In a scrappy road game for the Jaguars, it was Marshall who came out on top, with South Alabama falling in their fourth straight game, losing 64-90 in Huntington.

The Marshall defense proved to be the difference in the game, as the Herd forced 33 Jaguar turnovers while adding 19 steals.

Down 16 entering the fourth quarter, the Jaguars tried to rally, but the Marshall momentum was too much, as South fell to 0-2 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Two Jaguars finished in double figures in the contest, with Nadia Howard leading the way with 15 and Jordan Rosier finishing with 13. The loss was the first time this season Howard led the Jaguars in scoring.

Zena Elias finished with six rebounds, leading the squad for the seventh time this season.

Abby Beeman was the game changer for the Herd, totaling 18 points, while adding six assists and four rebounds. Two more Marshall players joined Beeman in double figures, with Breanna Campbell totaling 15 and Tamia Lawhorne adding 10.
