MOBILE, Ala. – The Jaguars opened Sun Belt Conference play with a road trip to Hattiesburg, but couldn't find the back of the net in a 0-0 tie with the Golden Eagles of Southern Miss.

The Jags and the Golden Eagles battled in the first half, with defenses on display in Hattiesburg, as each team took just two shots in the first half. Neither were able to find the back of the net, going into halftime even at zero.

The Jaguar offense applied more pressure in the second half of the match, taking five shots while holding Southern Miss to one.

The best opportunity for South Alabama came in 68
th minute off a shot from
Kailey Littleford that soared just high over the goal.

South took four shots on frame but could not capitalize, recording their second draw of the season and their first in conference play.

The draw was the first game all season the Jaguars were held scoreless.

Jaidy Gutierrez Campos recorded another clean sheet, her fifth of the season and South's sixth. She faced three shots and recorded two saves.
