LAFAYETTE, La. | South Alabama women's tennis got a 4-0 road win Saturday, beating the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns in Lafayette.
The Jags got the first doubles win on the day from number two, where
Elysia Pool and
Nikola Novotna downed Lucie Raquin and Angel Santiago 6-1.
South then took a 1-0 lead on the day following a win from the duo of
Chems Doha Zeghlouli and
Otoha Aoki, beating Momoko Yoshimura and Stephanie Atelius 6-2.
In singles, the Jags claimed five first sets over the Ragin Cajuns.
Freshman
Tereza Dejnozkova struck first for the Jaguars, getting a quick 6-0, 6-0 win over Cristina Tchanichev.
Delien Kleinhans put the Jags up 3-0 after a 6-0, 6-0 win over Momoko Yoshimura from number five.
Senior
Luminita Tutunaru recorded her 15
th singles win of the season and clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win at number one, beating Louisiana's Carla Urchoeguia.
The matches at number two, three and six went unfinished, with
Nikola Novotna in her third set and
Elysia Pool and
Chems Doha Zeghlouli in their second sets.
The Jags (15-5, 6-4) closes out the regular season slate with a road match at Georgia State, Sunday at 10 a.m.
