Jaguars win fifth-straight with victory over Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas | South Alabama extended their season-high winning streak to five Wednesday night, defeating Texas State, 76-67, at the Strahan Arena.
 
The Jaguars improved to 16-14 (9-8 Sun Belt), and the Bobcats fell to 13-17 (6-11 SBC).
 
Isaiah Moore led the all players with 22 points and seven assists, including going 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Kevin Samuel added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four blocks and a season-high four made free throws.
 
GAME FACTS (HOW IT HAPPENED)
  • The Jags jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the first three minutes of the game.
  • South led by three, 22-19 after a layup from Tyrell Jones at the 10-minute mark.
  • Their largest lead came after a 3-pointer from Greg Parham II to put the Jags up 31-23 with 4:50 to play.
  • The Jaguars shot 56% (5-of-9) from beyond the arc in the first half.
  • South Alabama continued to lead by five, 43-38, with 15:48 to go.
