MOBILE, Ala. | The South Alabama Jaguars (12-14, 6-8 SBC) have an early-week bout against a non-conference foe to start the final two weeks of the regular season, as they play host to the Hartford Hawks (5-20) Monday night at the Mitchell Center.
 
The Jags are coming off a 17-point victory over App State on Saturday, and the Hawks fell to Central Connecticut State University on Wednesday, 82-73.
 
The men's basketball team has partnered with the Sun Belt and the Rising Coaches Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Alliance to make Monday's game an Equality & Inclusion Game. We will also be celebrating Black History Month.

THE SERIES
This is the first-ever matchup between South Alabama and Hartford.
 
NOTES

• In the past five games, South Alabama has trailed for only two minutes of a possible 200.
• The Jaguars were perfect from the free-throw line against App State, making all 11 of their attempts.
• Kevin Samuel is one of four players to be top-50 in both blocks and rebounds since 1985 – Tim Duncan, Shelden Williams and Shaquille O'Neal.
• He has recorded 62 blocks to this point in the season, which ranks eighth all-time at South Alabama for blocks in a single season.
• South was picked to finish third in the Sun Belt preseason poll. The Jags finished fifth in the conference last year with a 9-7 record. 
• The Jaguars placed two players on the Preseason All-Sun Belt teams. Kevin Samuel was named to the first-team, and Greg Parham II was voted to the second team.
