MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama women's golf head coach Marcelo Huarte announced the addition of Flavia Tamburlini (Saint Gollen, Switzerland) to the 2024-25 recruiting class on Wednesday. 

Tamburlini becomes the fifth member of the class, joining Mercedes Aldana (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Anna Behnsen (Horsens, Denmark), Katelyn Foster (Mobile, Ala.) and Katharina Schroll (Vienna, Austria), who were announced earlier in the month.

"We are thrilled to add Flavia to our roster next year," Huarte said. "Flavia has the drive and commitment to compete at the highest level. She's eager to join the Jag family and make an impact on our roster. Flavia comes from a family of highly accomplished golfers and knows what it takes to compete at the highest level. She exemplifies the core qualities necessary to be successful and we can't wait to welcome her to Mobile in August."

Tamburlini recorded seven Top 10 finishes, including four Top 5 placements, in eight counting events during the 2023 season. 

She finished second at the Ticino Championship with a three-round 212 (72-73-67--212), and her four-under 67 in the final round was a new personal best. 

Tamburlini was also a member of the Swiss National team and competed at the German Boys and Girls Open in 2023. She also participated at the ANNIKA Invitational Europe and at the Flumserberg Ladies Open (LETAS) in 2023, and finished ninth at the 2023 Swiss National Championships (U16/18 Girls)

Tamburlini won a pair of Swiss Golf Junior Tour events in 2022.
