HATTIESBURG, Miss. | Junior South Alabama women's golfer Malia Uyeshiro posted her best finish of the fall as she tied for fifth at the Judson held at the Hattiesburg Country Club on Tuesday after turning in a three-round, two-over par 218 (69-76-73). 

As a team, South Alabama placed 11th among the field of 12 teams with a three-round 929 (304-314-311).

Central Arkansas led the field and took home team honors (294-288-293—875), while Tarleton State's captured individual medalists honors finishing at three-under (67-73-73—213), two strokes ahead of Paola Rosario (Cincinnati) and Ashley Goh (Central Michigan).

"It was good to see Malia finish in the top five, our highest finish of the semester.  As a team, we continued to improve this week. There are still things we need to continue to work on, but I look forward to this time for us to work as we prepare for the spring."

Notes
•    The Judson marked the final tournament of the fall for South Alabama
•    The fifth-place finished marked the second straight at the event by Uyeshiro and her  career Top-5 finish
•    Uyeshiro opened up the tournament with a season-low, three-under par, carding four birdies in the opening round to sit in second place 
•    Uyseshiro finished with a team-best 10 birdies over the three rounds after she entered the week with six birdies through her first two tournaments this fall
•    As a group, the Jaguars recorded 27 birdies for the tournament
•    South Alabama also ranked fifth among the 12-team field in on Par 4s (4.36) and sixth on Par 3s (3.38) 
•    The 69 fired in the opening round marked the third career round under 70 for Uyeshiro, and her sixth under par, which is tied for fourth most in program history
•    The first-round 304 by the Jaguars was one stroke off matching a season-low
•    South Alabama played the final two rounds down a player as Burch had to withdraw due to injury early in the second round on Monday
