MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama football returns home looking to get back on track this weekend, hosting Louisiana Tech at Hancock Whitney Stadium on Saturday night.
The game kicks at 6 pm and can be seen on ESPN+.
South Alabama (2-1) enters off the heels of a 32-31 loss at the Rose Bowl to UCLA last weekend and enter the game as one of the top offenses in the nation. The Jags are currently fifth in the nation, and lead the Sun Belt Conference, in time of possession at 35:15 and are 33rd overall nationally in total offense. They did not allow a sack against the Bruins last weekend, nor did they have a minus play on offense while
La'Damian Webb recorded the first 100-yard game rushing of the season for the Jags.
Defensively, the Jags are in the top 35 in both rushing defense (96.7) and passing defense (212.0), while also entering the weekend 36th in the nation in turnover margin.
Meanwhile, they will be facing a Louisiana Tech (1-2) team whose two losses have come against Missouri and No. 4 Clemson on the road. They enter the weekend 32nd in passing offense, nine spots lower than the Jags through three weeks.

GAME NOTES
- South Alabama kicker Diego Guajardo currently leads the nation in field goals, converting on each of his attempts this season. His only miss was a PAT on the road at Central Michigan that hit off both uprights.
- The Jags have played several teams from Conference USA in their short history and are 2-7 against those teams (some of which were Sun Belt teams when they met but are current C-USA members).
- South Alabama paces the Sun Belt Conference this season with 28 graduates playing the sport of football, with 253 total student-athletes represented across the conference.
- Jalen Wayne continues to climb the receptions list at South Alabama, climbing to fourth all-time following the UCLA game. He currently sits at 114 catches just 12 behind third place.
- Webb currently sits in the top 15 in the nation in rushing entering Saturday, averaging 105.0 yards per game.
- Carter Bradley currently sits in the top 30 in passing yards in the country, throwing for 836 yards.
- Following a near shutout of Nicholls in the opener, South Alabama responded on defense by holding Lew Nichols – the nation's returning leading rushing – to just 20 yards on the ground in a win over Central Michigan.
