QUOTES
Head Coach Matt Luther
- On Greta Rietdorf:
"She just hits it solid. She drove it well and hit her irons good. She didn't putt particularly well, but made some today. When you hit it as solid as she does a lot of courses set up for you."
- On Malia Uyeshiro:
"Malia is doing what a second-year player should do: she's learning, she hits it great, is getting better at everything, she's smart and very even keeled. She just put some things together. She still makes a couple of mistakes here and there, sort of still making a few freshman mistakes but she makes a ton of birdies. She's going to be dangerous as she gets older."
- On the team's finish:
"We played here two years ago, and we played a ton better (this week) than we did two years ago which is super encouraging. And we had some spurts of really good nine holes here and there, but then we'd give a few back. As this group learns how to close tournaments and how to not do that, then they're going to be pretty dangerous. But all in all, it was a great tournament and a great teachable moment. It feels like we got beat right at the end, but it's a great lesson in the value of one shot over three days."
- On the team's ability to score on par fives:
"The par fives, three of them are pretty quirky, and we definitely played them aggressively off the tee. I think that worked out well for us, obviously. We definitely played them more aggressively than other teams that we were playing with."
