Jaguar soccer takes on McNeese State Sunday

MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama women's soccer wraps up the South Alabama Tournament with a matchup against McNeese State Sunday at 3 p.m. in Hancock Whitney Stadium. The game will be shown on ESPN+.
 
Sunday will be the third meeting between the Jags and the Cowgirls, with the last matchup being in 2006, when McNeese won 3-1.
 
Both teams played inside Hancock Whitney Stadium Thursday night as part of the South Alabama Tournament.
 
South (2-0-1) tied North Alabama 1-1. Freshman Lilly Lowery scored her first collegiate goal early in the match but UNA battled back with an equalizer to tie the game 1-1. 
 
McNeese State (1-2-0) fell to Troy 3-1 in their first game of the South Alabama Tournament. Troy led 2-1 at half and scored another to make it 3-1, giving McNeese their second loss of the season.
 
Sunday's match is International Day and Jaguar soccer invites all international students to attend the match and be a part of Sunday's events.
 
After Sunday's match against McNeese, the Jags will hit the road for a matchup at Mississippi State Thursday Sept. 1, at 5 p.m. The game will be streamed on SEC Network+.

  • The Jaguars took first place in the Sun Belt West Division preseason coaches poll, receiving 12 of 14 first place votes.
