MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama travels to Kennesaw (Ga.) Aug. 18, to take on the Kennesaw State Owls for their first regular season matchup of 2022. Thursday's game will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2014. The game will be shown on ESPN+.
South Alabama, the three-time defending Sun Belt Conference champions, defeated Jackson State (3-0) and Northern Kentucky (5-0) in their two exhibition games of the preseason.
Kennesaw State played an exhibition against Ole Miss on Aug. 12.
South Alabama (12-5-3 last season) was picked to win the West Division of the Sun Belt Conference last week with three Jags earning All-Conference honors.
Thursday's game will be the first of two road games to open the season, as the Jags travel to Jacksonville State on Sunday.
