MOBILE, Ala. – Former South Alabama track and field standout and record holder Rickssen Opont received his first contract from the WWE wrestling league.
 
Opont, who holds the school record for the indoor (17.43m) and outdoor (18.84) shot put events, received the contract after a successful run during the Summerslam Tryouts in Nashville, Tenn., at the end of July.
 
Rickssen will now head to Orlando, Fla., to continue training and work toward earning his spot on the WWE circuit.
