QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the loss:
"(Nick) Parker was really good. We knew what he was though. He doesn't throw two fastballs in a row. He's a four-pitch mix guy who's really put it together this year. We faced him twice last year and got him pretty good, but this year he got us and we didn't match it on the mound. We only scored one run so it doesn't matter. Landon (Jordan) hit that home run in the first inning, and we still had momentum from last night on our side. They (CCU) just played better than us; they pitched better than us today. I looked up at one point and it was eight hits to seven, and we were down by seven runs. We walked five (batters) and hit two. We just weren't good enough on the mound today, and weren't good enough all-around to be a good team like that two out of three (games) at home. I told the guys last night that you have to play good in all three areas and needed to bring it again today, but we didn't. So now we go home and get ready for the (Sun Belt) conference tournament."
