LACKIE AND KVISTAD POWER JAGUAR SOFTBALL TO SERIES ROAD SWEEP OF ULM

MONROE, La. – Olivia Lackie scattered three hits and tossed a complete-game, shut out, while Kamdyn Kvistad drove in the lone runs of the game with her third-inning RBI single to help the University of South Alabama softball team complete the Sun Belt Conference series sweep Sunday afternoon, 2-0 at the ULM Softball Complex.

UP NEXT
- South Alabama (20-17, 12-4 SBC) will return home for its final regular-season Sun Belt Conference home series versus Georgia Southern on April 29-May 1 (Fri.-Sun.). Game one of the three-game series is set for a 6 p.m. First pitch with games two and three scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and 12 p.m., respectively.

GAME FACTS
- Keel reached in the top of the second on a one-out hit – her fifth of the series – and was moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Belle Wolfenden, but Kackley was able to get a strikeout to strand the runner at second.
- Allie Hughen and Nichols walked on eight straight out of the zone to start the Jag third, and after a pitching change, a fielder's choice and a ground out to second, Kvistad lined a single to left that scored a pair for South (2-0).
- ULM, which had a runner on in four of the seven innings, brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh after Gabby Davila walked to begin the inning. Lackie though was able to get a pair of fly outs to left and then struck out Madelyn Fletcher to end game and complete the series sweep.
- Lackie struck out six and allowed just three hits, while not allowing a runner passed second base in the contest.
- The Walker, La., native 11 of the final 12 batters she faced after allowing a one-out single in the fourth.
- Mackenzie Brasher, Keel and Hughen each recorded two hits for South, while Kvistad plated the only runs of the game.
- Hughen reached base all three of her plate appearances as she also walked once to go along with her base hit.

NOTES
- The Sun Belt Conference series sweep marks the sixth time the Jags have done so in the series and the first since 2017.
- South Alabama improves to 40-9 overall and 21-5 In Monroe all-time in the series.
- Brasher extended both her reached base safely (20) and hit (10) streaks with her first-inning, infield single. 
- The 20-game reached base safely streak is tied with Tara Donaldson (2009) for ninth-best all-time at South.
- Two hits, Brasher marked her team-leading 10th multi-hit effort of the season and the 29th of her career, which ties her for 16th on the program's career list.
- The two RBI by Kvistad mark the senior's 26th multi-RBI outing of her career, tied with two others for sixth.
- Keel has now had a hit in five straight and two-hit games in her last four. She now has 23 multi-hit games at South Alabama – 25th-most by a player for the program – and 35 for her career.
- For the series, Keel recorded multi-hit performances in all three games, batted .750 (6-for-8) and reached base in seven of her nine plate appearances, while scoring a pair of runs and driving in two to go along with her triple and home run in the series opener.
- With her walk in the top of the third, Nichols has now reached base safely with either a hit or a free pass in six straight and 17 of last 18.
- Hughen with her third multi-hit game as a Jag. The two hits tied a career-best for the senior.
- With her strikeout of Kelsey Giddons to end the fifth, Lackie picked up her 400th career strikeout. 
- Lackie went the distance for her 11th complete game this spring and the 28th of her career. It was also the sixth shutout in 2022 and the 14th of her career. 
- The victory also marked the 30th of the sophomore's career.
