PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – The University of South Alabama women's tennis team defeated Texas State 4-0 at the Peachtree City Tennis Center on Friday

The Jags earned the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. The team went on to win on singles courts two, three and five for the win.

- Today's win brought South's win total to 20 resulting in the seventh season under head coach Jaco Keyser the Jags have recorded 20 or more wins. 
- Kohoutova broke 20 wins for the year with her 10th win on court two. 
- Fujioka and Van der Merwe remain the lead doubles duo for the Jags with 16 dual wins. 
- South Alabama has won the last four matches over Coastal Carolina including a 4-1 win on April 10.

- On today's performance: "It's a good start to the tournament. I thought we came out and we were ready. Texas State played some very good, inspired tennis but I felt like we absorbed it and then took over in most of the matches. It's always good to get the first-round win but we are excited for a competitive match against Coastal Carolina tomorrow."
