Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the loss:
"The middle innings of the ballgame, the fourth, fifth and sixth, we didn't hold serve and left too many men on base. Our guys worked hard. We had a couple of guys with a good night, a couple of guys hit some balls hard and a couple of guys didn't have such a good night at the plate, but that's baseball. We lost the middle-third of that ballgame. We had our opportunities, and that's all you can ask for. We just didn't cash in on them defensively and offensively, and against a good team at their home park you have to play better than we did tonight. Our guys went hard, we just didn't play the game well enough tonight.
"(Starting pitcher) Walker (Johnson) was fine. I thought (Collin) Brougham's first inning when he came out was good. He just ran into a rough patch in the fifth (inning) and they (SLU) scored some runs. He was competing and had good stuff. They got into a ball or two, and there's the crooked number. It's hard to recover from that big of a crooked number on the road."
