Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the win:
"It was a big bounce back start from (JoJo) Booker, he was really good today. Our guys came in and got the leadoff out and forced them (Rhode Island) to rally with one out. That's tough to do when you're facing really good stuff, and (Zach) Harlan was really good as was (Grant) Wood behind him with the six-out save. When you have good stuff you have to limit free passes, play good defense and make the opponent earn every 90 feet. And when you do that in college baseball it is hard. That leadoff guy usually sets the tone defensively for us."
- On JoJo Booker:
"He was up a tick with his velocity. He did a really nice job adjusting to some things from a workload standpoint. Hopefully today is the jumping-off point for him. It certainly wasn't him last week for sure, but today was more like him. Credit him and the confidence he showed; he wasn't down, he came out there and did what he does. There is still another jump, his best fastball isn't back yet but he has that slider he throws in any count and he is a confident kid. He has pitched a lot of innings here against some really good teams."
