La'Damian Webb and defensive back
Yam Banks were named First Team All-Sun Belt by Phil Steele, leading a contingent of 14 players to make the four teams.
Webb, a two-time Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, finished the regular season with 1,015 rushing yards becoming just the second player in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season despite missing two games. He rushed for over 100 yards three different times on the season including 124 yards at the Rose Bowl against UCLA and rushed 152 yards and three touchdowns on the road against Arkansas State and another 247 yards and four touchdowns (both school records) on the road at Georgia Southern. Webb currently ranks in the top 50 in seven different categories nationally including 13th in rushing touchdowns and 10th in total touchdowns. He also recorded 17 receptions for 184 yards out of the backfield with a touchdown.
He was joined on the first team by Banks on the defensive side of the ball. He ranks nationally in interceptions (fourth) and interception per game (fifth) while leading the conference and scored a defensive touchdown against Louisiana Tech on one of his five interceptions on the season from his defensive back position. He finished fifth on the team in tackles with 45 including six tackles for loss and a sack (against Southern Miss). Banks recorded 10 pass breakups and five quarterback hurries, while also recovering a fumble. He recorded five or more tackles five times including seven against Old Dominion and recorded six tackles against Troy.

The two were joined by wide receiver
Jalen Wayne, placekicker
Diego Guajardo, and
Caullin Lacy on the second team with Wayne earning a 2023 Senior Bowl selection and setting a new school record with nine receiving touchdowns this season. The senior finished the regular season with 793 yards (leads team) on 56 receptions (second on the team). He averaged 14.16 yards per reception and 66.08 yards per game. Wayne currently stands second in school history in receiving yards (1,956) and third in career receptions with 150, and he is also fifth in school history in single-season receptions with 56. He currently ranks nationally in five different categories including 22nd in receiving touchdowns. Wayne recorded three or more receptions in 11 of the 12 games this season including a season-high 10 for 98 yards and a touchdown against Central Michigan. He also finished with nine receptions for 68 yards against Troy and recorded 127 yards on five receptions against ULM.

Meanwhile, Guajardo, a Lou Groza semifinalist was perfect on the year in field goals through nine games this season before missing his only kick against Texas State. The junior currently ranks nationally in four different categories including sixth in field goal percentage. He also ranks 29th in field goals per game and is in the top 50 in scoring and total points scored and has six games of two or more field goals this year including five in conference play. He finished the year 17-for-18 in field goals including 5-for-5 from 40-49 yards and connected on 44-of-45 extra point attempts.

Lacy led South Alabama this season with 58 receptions on the season and went over 1,000 yards for his career in receiving yards during the regular season. He finished with 759 yards and six touchdowns, hauling in three or more receptions in 11 of the 12 games this season including a career-high 12 – including one for a touchdown – against ULM. He also caught seven passes against Troy and six each against Old Dominion and Nicholls. He also earned the nod on the fourth team for special teams after a year in which he ranks fifth nationally in punt return touchdowns (one) and in the top 30 in punt returns.

The Jags also had three third team in selections led by offensive lineman
Dontae Lucas, and he was joined by defensive back
Jaden Voisin, defensive lineman
Wy'Kevious Thomas and long snapper
Travis Drosos. Lucas helped anchor an offensive line that produced the second 1,000-yard rusher in school history in Webb and a near 3,000-yard passer in Bradley. He helped the team finish the regular season 423.8 yards of total offense per game including 4.1 yards per carry running the football. The Jags allowed 22 sacks as a team, averaging 1.83 sacks given up per game, and were also honored this season by being named to the Joe Moore Midseason Honor Roll. Meanwhile, Voisin anchored a defense that is one of the best in the country by leading the team in tackles and was a Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week after a 17-tackle performance against Southern Miss. He finished the year with 73 total tackles.

Thomas finished with 32 tackles while being double teamed most of the year from his nose position, forcing three sacks and recording five tackles for loss. He recorded three or more tackles seven times on the season; while Drosos snapped for
Jack Brooks (Ray Guy Award Watch List) and Guajardo (Lou Groza Award semifinalist) and recorded a tackle against Arkansas State on punt coverage.

Joining Lacy on the fourth team were offensive lineman

Carter Bradley. Jackson helped anchor an offensive line that produced the second 1,000-yard rusher in school history in Webb and a near 3,000-yard passer in Bradley. He helped the team finish the regular season 423.8 yards of total offense per game including 4.1 yards per carry running the football. The Jags allowed 22 sacks as a team, averaging 1.83 sacks given up per game, and were also honored this season by being named to the Joe Moore Midseason Honor Roll.

Meanwhile, Luter, a 2023 Senior Bowl invitee, finished the year with 37 tackles with teams throwing away from him as the boundary corner for South Alabama. He finished with 25 solo tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss. He also recorded five pass breakups and an interception (Louisiana) as one of the best corners in the nation after being named to five watch lists at the beginning of the season… Luter recorded three or more tackles six times during the season including five against each Troy and Southern Miss and recorded four tackles against Louisiana Tech and Arkansas State.

Miller finished third on the team in tackles with 63 including 6.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He also finished with a pair of pass breakups and hurries and recorded four more tackles eight times. Meanwhile, Bradley rewrote the single season record book finishing with 2,983 passing yards and 25 touchdowns, while also completing 240 passes. He ranks in the top 50 nationally in 11 different categories and passed for 250 or more yards six different times including 300-plus twice. He passed for 354 against Central Michigan before throwing for 420 against ULM with three touchdowns.
