MOBILE, Ala. | The South Alabama men's basketball team (1-3) will take on three opponents this weekend as they participate in the Hostilo Hoops Community Classic in Savannah, Ga. All the games of the event will be played at the Enmarket Arena.
 
The Jags will open the MTE (multi-team event) facing off against the Evansville Purple Aces (1-3) on Friday at 5:30 pm CST. The Purple Aces are led by first-year head coach David Ragland.
 
The Jaguars will follow that with a matchup versus the Towson Tigers (5-0) on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. This is the first ever matchup between the Tigers and the Jaguars.
 
The MTE will conclude for the Jaguars when they take on the Robert Morris Colonials (2-2) Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. South Alabama has only faced Robert Morris twice, both in 1977. The Jaguars won both games by a combined 23 points.

THE SERIES vs. EVANSVILLE
Evansville leads the overall series, 3-1. South Alabama won the first matchup between the two teams, 86-67, on 1/8/87. Evansville won the most recent face-off between the two teams, 95-68 in 1994.

THE SERIES VS. ROBERT MORRIS
The Jaguars lead the series against the Colonials, 2-0. The two previous meetings came less than a month apart. The Jags won on January 27, 1977, 77-74. Then, on February 21, the Jags beat the Colonials 100-80.
 
NOTES

• The Jaguars are 8–2 in MTEs under head coach Richie Riley.
• This is the first time this season the Jaguars will play in the eastern time zone. They have already played in the central and mountain time zones.
• Owen White started his 100th career game against Alabama. He joined Kevin Samuel as the only two players on the roster to have 100+ career starts.
• Kevin Samuel is the Division I active career leader in rebounds with 1,085.
• He is 11 rebounds away from entering the top-100 all-time career rebounding leaders.
• In the game against New Mexico, Isaiah Moore recorded 13 assists, tied for fourth-most in program history for a single game. It was also the first time a South Alabama player has recorded 10+ assists since 11/19/18.
• Moore leads the Jags in scoring, averaging 19.5 per game, which is third in the SBC.
• Moore is also fourth in the conference in assists per game (5.3).
• Samuel is averaging 2.8 blocks per game, good for second among Sun Belt players.
• He is fourth in the conference in rebounding, currently securing 9.3 rebounds in each game.
• The Jags are averaging 71.5 points per game.
• Towson is one of three opponents for South Alabama this season that they have never faced (New Mexico, Hartford).
