MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama football put up 615 yards of total offense, while quarterback
Carter Bradley threw for a school-record 420 yards as the Jaguars picked up a 41-34 Homecoming victory over ULM Saturday night at Hancock Whitney Stadium.
Trailing at the break for the first time this season, the Jaguars (5-1. 2-0 SBC) took control with 17 unanswered points in the third quarter and put up 233 yards of total offense after amassing just 286 during the first 30 minutes of play versus the Warhawks (2-5, 1-3 SBC).
Bradley finished the night 25 for 33 with three touchdown passes, while South had a trio of receivers eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the first time in a game in program history.
Devin Voisin had a team-high 141 yards on seven receptions, while
Jalen Wayne had 127 yards on five catches and a pair of touchdowns.
Caullin Lacy set a new single-game record with 12 receptions to go along with his career-high 133 yards receiving. Lacy also finished the evening with 236 all-purpose yards as he added 103 yards on special teams – 77 kickoff return yards and 33 punt return yards.
Marco Lee Jr. (93) and
Omni Wells (91) each nearly eclipsed the 100-yard plateau as both set new career best in the category.
Linebacker
James Miller chipped in with nine tackles, including five solo.
Jamie Sherriff had five tackles and was credited with a pair of pass breakups and
Yam Banks also had five stops and a third-quarter interception. South Alabama finished the game with a season-best six tackles for loss, led by
Brock Higdon's 1.5. Higdon,
Wy'Kevious Thomas and
A.J. DeShazor Jr. were also credited with a sack.
ULM's Chandler Rogers was 20-of-27 through the air for 371 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. Tyrone Howell had 244 yards on nine receptions and three scores.

- The 12 receptions surpassed former Jags Jalen Tolbert (vs. Georgia Southern) and Jamarius Way's (vs. Texas State (9/15/18) previous single-game standard (11)Â
- The 236 all-purpose yards by Lacy now rank as eighth-most in a game and are the most in a game since Tolbert had 252 at Arkansas State (11/28/20)
- Wayne extended his streak of consecutive games with a catch to 21 straight contests, while Lacy has now had at least one catch in each of his last 18 outings
- With his 34-yard field goal on South's opening drive of the game, Diego Guajardo has now made a field goal in nine-straight games
- The 64-yard touchdown reception by Wayne was a new career-long and the longest play from scrimmage by the Jags this fall
- The completion marked the first of 60-plus yards since Desmond Trotter to Tolbert (68) at Tennessee (11/20/21)
- South Alabama has now had 10 scoring drives of five plays or less this season
- The two touchdown receptions by ULM's Tyrone Howell were the first by an opponent since Jonathan Adams Jr., and Brandon Bowling, Arkansas State (11/28/20), who each had two apiece
- The 244 yards received by Howell were the most by an opponent in a game, eclipsing the previous mark (A.J. Brown, Ole Miss [233] on September 2, 2017
- It was also the most by an opposing receiver since Georgia State's Sam Pickney had 176 (11/21/20)
- Howell's three touchdown receptions tied for second-most by an opponent and was the first three-touchdown receiving game since Ja'Marcus Bradley (Louisiana – 11/17/18)
- The 44-yard, second quarter run by Wells was a new career long for the running back
- The 214 passing yards given up in the first half by the Jag defense, nearly matched the season high allowed (267 – at Central Michigan)Â
- D. Voisin's 46-yard reception on the opening drive of the second half was a new career long
- The two-touchdown game by Wayne was his second of the season (Nicholls), while Lee Jr. also had a pair rushing touchdowns, which was the second time he has done so this season (at UCLA, 9/17/22)
- Wayne is one of three players in program history to have multiple games of two or more touchdown receptions in the same season –Tolbert (2020, '21) and Shavarez Smith (2014)
- Wayne now has 125 receptions for his career, one shy of moving into third place – Kawaan Baker (126 – 2017-20)]Â
- The senior also moved into fifth place on the career yards receiving list as he has 1,654, moving passed Way (1,617 – 2017-18)
- The three-touchdown performance marked the fourth time this season that Bradley has thrown three or more TDs in a game this fall
- The 13 touchdown passes by Bradley are tied with Cody Clements (2015) for eighth-most in a career and are tied for fourth-most with Clements in a single season
