LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The University of South Alabama women's soccer team earned its first draw of the season against Little Rock, 1-1, on Sunday at the Coleman Sports Complex in Little Rock, Ark.

Neither team found the back of the net in the first half of play in the conference meeting. Junior midfielder Imane Addi scored a goal after the ball deflected off of a Little Rock defender to give the Jags a late lead in the second half. A foul committed by Monique Gray gave Little Rock (4-3-2, 1-0-1 SBC) a penalty kick, which was scored by Bergros Asgeirsdottir, tying the match in the closing moments of regulation. South Alabama (4-3-1, 0-1-1 SBC) led in shots with 23 while holding Little Rock to six over the course of the match.

GAME FACTS
- Addi recorded her fifth goal of the season at 71:21 to give USA a 1-0 lead late in the second half. 
- Little Rock defender Asgeirsdottir scored a penalty kick in the closing minutes of regulation time and tied the match at 1-1. 

NOTES
- This was the first time that South Alabama has gone into overtime in a match this season.
- This was the second consecutive tie between the two schools, the last came during the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in the 2020 season.
- Freshman Jaidy Gutierrez made her first career start in goal for South Alabama and went the distance through both overtime periods. 
- Addi led the Jags with one goal, seven shots and two points in the match.
- USA held its opponent to under 10 shots for the sixth time this season.

- On the result: "Today was not our day, our team worked so hard and deserved a result. We need to go back and figure out why we're not converting the chances we had today. It was a tough weekend, but we will regroup, get back home and go again."

- On Gutierrez's first start in goal: "We've got three great goalkeepers who are always pushing each other. Jaidy was ready to go so we decided to go with her and I'm sure it meant the world to her. It's encouraging to see a freshman stand up in the goal for us."
