JAGUAR SOCCER FALLS IN EXHIBITION MATCH AT LIPSCOMB

Match Notes

NASHVILLE – The South Alabama women's soccer team fell 2-0 in an exhibition match against Lipscomb on Monday at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

The Bison found the back of the net early in the first half and tacked on another in the closing minutes to take the win over South Alabama. The Jags created many offensive chances in Lipscomb's half of the field, but could not finish during the match.

GAME FACTS
- Allison Luckhardt made a save on a shot that was on target from Lipscomb's Kelli Beiler in the opening minutes of the match. 
- Graduate transfer Abby Jacobs took a shot at the back of the net early that was saved by Lipscomb goalkeeper CJ Graham.
- Kailey Littleford tried to find the back of the net off of a corner kick at the 12-minute mark, which was saved by Graham. 
- Lipscomb's Molly Grant received an assist from Kelli Beiler to open up scoring at the 21-minute mark.
- Morgan Cross took a high shot that was saved by Graham in the 26th minute. She followed up with another shot on goal shortly after, but couldn't find the back of the net.
- Beiler fed her second assist of the day to Cami Rogers to put the Bison up 2-0 over the Jags in the 78th minute.

NOTES
- The match was an exhibition for both teams therefore neither of their records are affected by the outcome. 
- South outshot Lipscomb with 16 shots, seven on goal, while the Bison only had 11 shots, five on goal.  
- USA took six corner kicks in the first half, while not allowing Lipscomb any opportunity to take one. The Jags led 7-1 in that category for the match.  
- Lipscomb has won both exhibition matches between the two teams, the last win coming in 2019 in Foley, Ala.

On the result: "Lipscomb is a good team. We had some really good chances and just couldn't finish today. We made two mistakes that led to goals, but they didn't break us down. There are way more positives for us to take away from this game."
