QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi

- On the loss:
"Miles (Smith) was phenomenal. We didn't handle the ball like we should have with our leadoff out in the eighth inning. Our bullpen and pitching has been great this year. We just didn't get it done tonight. But we swung the bats well and outhit them (Texas State), and I thought we outplayed them for two-thirds of that game. The bottom line is you have to play a whole game. You have to play 27 outs, and we didn't play well enough in the eighth. But give them credit, they put five (runs) on us and won the ballgame. I was proud of the way the guys got in there and swung the bats. We faced a good arm tonight. We left a couple of runners on in crucial situations where we could have opened it up in the third and fourth innings; we only scored one run in each of those innings, and we could have extended our lead a little bit more. But that's baseball, we just didn't play well enough at the end of the ballgame."
