STATESBORO, Ga. – The University of South Alabama baseball team fell to Georgia Southern 11-2 Saturday at J.I. Clements Stadium.
The loss snapped South Alabama's win streak at nine games.

- Georgia Southern scored the game's first run in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single up the middle by Noah Ledford. The Eagles doubled their lead to 2-0 later in the inning on a sacrifice fly to center field by Jarrett Brown.
- Georgia Southern extended its lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth on a two-RBI single through the left side of the infield by Christian Avant.
- Ethan Wilson doubled to right-center field with two outs in the top of the sixth, and scored on an RBI single to center field by Reid Powers to cut the Eagle lead to 3-1.
- The Eagles responded in the bottom of the sixth on a leadoff solo home run to left field by Austin Thompson for a 4-1 Georgia Southern advantage.JP Tighe followed with a solo home run to left-center field for a 5-1 lead. A one-out RBI triple down the left field line by Parker Biederer for a 6-1 lead.
- Cameron Tissue and Richard Sorrenti led off the top of the seventh with consecutive singles. A wild pitch allowed both runners to move into scoring position with no outs. Eagle right-hander Jay Thompson struck out Hunter Donaldson for the first out of the inning. A one-out walk by Santi Montiel loaded the bases for Michael Sandle, who delivered an RBI single to center field to cut the Eagle lead to 6-2.
- Georgia Southern took a 7-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Tighe, and pushed its lead to 8-2 on a two-out RBI triple to center field by Brown.
- The Eagles extended their lead to 9-2 in the bottom of the eight by Mason McWhorter. Avant followed with a two-run double for an 11-2 lead.

- Wilson extended his hitting streak to six games with two-out single in the top of the first inning.
- Powers extended his on-base streak to 10 games with a two-out single in the top of the first.
- Montiel extended his on-base streak to eight games with a walk in the top of the seventh.
- Sandle extended his hitting streak and on-base streak to eight games with an RBI single in the top of the seventh.
- South Alabama allowed a season-high 16 hits in the game.
- Jaguar right-hander Matt Boswell (2-2) allowed three runs on five hits with six strikeouts without issuing a walk in 4 2/3 innings in the loss.
- Powers went 2-for-4 with one RBI to lead the Jags at the plate. Wilson finished 2-for-4 with a double and one run scored, and Tissue went 2-for-4 with one run scored.
