HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The University of South Alabama men's tennis team pulled off the win against Southern Miss with a 5-2 decision on Sunday afternoon at the Southern Miss Tennis Complex. The Jaguars snagged the doubles point and pushed on to snare four singles wins, with the clincher coming from Sébastien Collard on court three.

Collard and Clément Marzol led the Jags in doubles play as they defeated Alexander Aima and Matthieu Peres on court two. Julien Evrard and Leon Pet'ko drummed up a 6-4 victory over Hisang Yi  Wang and Alan Sanson on court one to give USA the doubles point. 

In singles, Loïc Cloes and Marzol stayed on the gas pedal to tack up two more points for the South, with Cloes storming up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Peres on court two and Marzol scooping a 6-1, 6-2 win over Gima on court one. At no. 3, Collard upended Sanson 6-0, 6-3 to claim the clincher for USA, getting his Jaguars up 4-1 as the match played on. The Golden Eagles got on the board after A. Audrain's and O. Nabien singles victories on courts four and six, but Martin Bugaj gave the Jaguars their final point on court five.

- Evrard and Pet'ko won their first doubles victory as a pair on court one.
- Collard and Marzol ended the regular season undefeated as a duo, with all four wins coming at the No. 2 position.
- Bugaj was the lone Jaguar to force his opponent into three sets.
- Three Jags' singles victories came in straight sets: Marzol, Cloes and Collard.
- Marzol earned the 85th singles win of his career against Southern Miss.
- Cloes and Collard each recorded their fourth consecutive singles victory this season.
- USA has won 12 of the 14 meetings in the all-time series between the two clubs.

- On today's performance: "Great win. I'm very proud of the team, and I'm very proud of our seniors. Today, we had all four of our seniors play and contribute to the win, and that was awesome. Some of them have been with us for five years, and some of them joined us recently. All of them have held this program tremendously, and I am very fortunate to have them on the team. Overall, the match was great, and we competed well. Our goal was to have a strong start because Southern Miss is a team that if you give them hope, all of sudden they get pumped and motivated, and you're facing a completely different team. We made sure we started off strong in doubles. We were leading on all three courts early in the match, and we tried to carry that momentum over into singles. We had a strong start in singles that was led by our two senior captains on one and two. It was terrific to have them lead the team and being very loud. I am proud of them, and it was a great way to end the season."
