GAME FACTS
- Cameron Tissue led off the bottom of the third inning with a triple to right field, and scored on a two-out, two-run home run to left field by Caleb Balgaard for a 2-0 Jaguar lead.
- Hunter Stokes led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a single to left field, advanced to second with one out after a groundout to shortstop by Santi Montiel and scored on a one-out RBI double down the right field line by Alden Davis for a 3-0 Jaguar advantage. Richard Sorrenti followed with an RBI single to right-center field to plate Davis for a 4-0 lead. Ethan Wilson then delivered a two-out, two-run double to the right center field gap to score Sorrenti and Michael Sandle, who doubled ahead of Wilson, and extend the USA lead to 6-0. Balgaard struck out for what appeared to be the third out of the frame, but Southern Miss catcher Andrew Stanley's throw to first pulled first baseman Christopher Sargent off the bag, allowing Balgaard to reach safely and extend the inning and Wilson to score from third for a 7-0 lead.
- Southern Miss scored its first run of the game in the top of the seventh on a sacrifice fly to center field by Stanley to cut the USA lead to 7-1.
- The Golden Eagles cut the Jag lead to 7-2 in the top of the eighth on a two-out solo home run to left field by Charlie Fischer.
- USA scored the game's final run in the bottom of the eighth when Sandle singled to center field, and scored Richard Sorrenti who reached on a walk earlier in the inning.

- Tissue extended his hitting streak to three games with a leadoff triple in the bottom of the third.

QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi

- On the win:
"This is a big win over a very good Southern Miss team. We're happy to get that one under our belts. Matt Boswell was outstanding tonight, he led the way. The wind was blowing out, and he just kept making pitches. His changeup was really good and he was sitting 90 to 92 (mph) early on. He's an older guy and we leaned on him tonight. Boswell was fantastic."

- On the offense entering Sun Belt Conference play:
"I feel better than I did last weekend. There are some guys who are starting to heat up. Ethan (Wilson), (Caleb) Balgaard and Mike Sandle were good. (Hunter) Stokes has been very solid all year long, Richard Sorrenti had a big RBI today. We had multiple guys with RBIs and we usually win when we do. Some guys are feeling a little bit better in the box, but we still need a couple more. Offense comes and goes, but it is getting better. Pitching and defense the last three games have been really good."
