QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On Tyler Lehrmann:
"(Tyler) Lehrmann was great. He just threw strikes and his changeup was good. He didn't throw many breaking balls. It was fastball command with a good changeup. Lehrmann just competes; he makes pitches. He had a pretty good fastball today, but he just changed speeds and made pitches when he had to and kept them (ORU) off balance. And pitching with a three-run lead doesn't hurt either. I am so proud of Lehrmann's effort today."
- On the offense:
"We put three (runs) on them in the first (inning). We got a couple of big two-out RBIs. The three-spot was big, and then the seventh was an outstanding inning. Hunter Donaldson leading it off, down 1-2 (in the count) and worked a walk, Reid Powers, Mike Sandle and (Caleb) Balgaard had big hits. I told the guys we capitalized, but we still left a few too many runners in scoring position with less than two outs. That's something we need to clean up. Lehrmann and (Andy) Arguelles were really good, we played solid defense and got enough hits. We're still waiting for a few guys to heat up. We hit eight or nine balls really hard today to go along with the eight hits, but as some guys start to feel more comfortable in the early going of this season offensively, hopefully we'll see some guys start to heat up a little more at the plate."
