THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Terry Fowler
-Opening statement: "I was pleased with our effort in the first quarter. I thought we did some really good things in practice yesterday to prepare for their pressure defense. Those things translated into today's game, so that was a good sign. In the second quarter we tried to play zone against them, but we still gave up a 28-point quarter because they were still able to get the ball inside. I thought in the first half the biggest thing was they had 22 points off of our 13 turnovers, which gave them a cushion. The second half I thought we fought and did some really good things. At the end of the game we had four freshmen on the floor playing and they just kept fighting. We continue to make the right plays, so even though we didn't get the result we wanted you have to make the right plays first and then the results will come."
-On opening conference play: "This was great preparation leading into conference play opening against Appalachian State. We are looking forward to having a break and some time off but then returning and getting back to work."
